Made For New Wine

12/22/2012

Picture
Matthew 9:17 “Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved”.

2012 has been quite a year. Seems like yesterday we were anticipating and subsequently shouting “Happy New Year”! Around this time, many individuals are preparing for Christmas with families and friends in addition to celebrating the New Year by forming resolutions. Believers that have lived long enough know too well that resolutions don’t work without sacrifice, investment, or input.  Living for the Lord operates in the same manner; it does not happen automatically, rather it takes sacrifice of dying to the flesh daily along with commitment. Those duties are our part to fulfill in our personal relationship and walk with God.

As I meditated on Matthew 9:17, God began to open the eyes of my spirit to some key points. Every child of God can experience the fullness of Him because of who Jesus is in us. (Colossians 2:9). In that light, there is only one thing that can deter the manifestation of Jesus in us; and that deterrent is you and I. The new wine is a type or shadow of the Holy Spirit or Anointing.

There is a new wine being poured into the new wineskins of the Bride of Christ at this point in time, hour, and season. This new wine is more than able to make your Christmas a special one, aside from the typical associated with Christmas as we know it today. No matter what your family tradition may be for Christmas, consider the essence of the new wine in your life. Make certain sacrifices for Jesus and offer those to Him as your rare gifts. Sacrifices birthed out of your love for Him, who He is to you, and who He is in your life. By giving the gifts of love, joy, kindness, forgiveness, faith, and hope to someone this Christmas, you are actually giving to Jesus and allowing the new wine to flow out of you. These intangible gifts, in turn, bring Jesus honor, praise, glory, and adoration.

This new wine is also more than able to make 2013 your year of living the life that God has destined just for you.  Rather than make resolutions, consider the importance of the new wine in your life and make up your mind to follow Jesus no matter the cost. Determine to follow Him all the way through.  Making up your mind requires effort such as determination, focus, resolve, and tenacity. Add to these requirements the new wine and you have an unstoppable Bride of Christ equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 2:20-21).

May you experience the life transforming power of the new wine this Christmas and in the New Year, in Jesus name. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from my family to you and yours.

"There is a new wine being poured into the new wineskins of the Bride of Christ at this point in time, hour, and season" prophetically spoken and declared. I receive it in Jesus name. God bless you MOG. Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family.

The pastor at the candle light service I attended tonight with my family talked about the same thing. The need for Christians to drink of the new wine. Confirmation. I always love how you explain biblical truths. Thank you for your obedience and your ministry. Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year to you and your family.

Pastor Johnson

Amanda, it blesses me that God used this as a confirmation for you. He has great plans that He has specially designed for you. Keep trusting Him. God bless you and Happy new Year to you.

Pastor Ricco

My brother your obedience in steering our hearts to the true meaning of Christmas is a blessing. In a culture that has lost its way on things and stuff, this is an upward message. The common saying that Jesus is the reason for the season, has lost its meaning and and we see an opposite of the true meaning of Christmas. Its all about Jesus, I love you man.
